Be the Change with EFT & Gandhi Groups
Nothing gets the passionate juices flowing like being an activist for a cause, resisting an evil, perceived or real, of a Goliath by taking on the role of David the Giant Slayer. All too often we allow ourselves to invest tremendous amounts of energy into a cause, first choosing a side, and then fighting for what is “right”. There are many causes, some seem trivial and not a bother, some are a fad pumped by the media, many feel genuine, and others are real but thrown into the bin of difficult to prove “conspiracy theories”. Playing politics and getting sucked into such games can be tremendous time wasters garnering little if any results; and even if you do get results, are they really that important in the cosmic scheme of things? Aline and I have discovered a brilliant new way to experience activism, one that really changes things and creates lasting results—Be the change with EFT.
“Be the change with EFT” takes a tremendous amount of courage, not because you must face the daunting giant of a government, sect, multinational corporation, or secret organization, but because you must become one with the evil that you so desperately want to eradicate.
“To be spiritual is to have chosen the path of the light, to experience mastery is to have become one with both the darkness and the light.” ~Nathan Martin & Aline Van Meer
When you become proficient with this technique, you will be creating a life of mastery, one which radically transforms all that you come into contact with, as you alchemically transmute the evil that you are faced with as a regular practice. This way of experiencing negligence is in stark contrast to the traditional resistance model, or the current fad of positive thinking and rising above the injustice; as the first directly adds energy into the problem by fighting it, and the second seeks to deny energy to a current reality by pretending that they do not exist. The latter is a very dangerous way of dealing with perceived evils, as it does not remove energy from the destructive and hurtful things in the world, it is a form of pie in the sky thinking, it is denying the reality found in the present moment.
“It’s all reality until the illusion is seen for what it really is, an illusion–but until then, the illusion is still reality. The heart (or another spiritualized ego) telling an ego that all is an illusion does not stop enabling the mind and perpetuates the old paradigm. The heart must allow the ego 100% safety and freedom to fully experience the illusion; this places the ego in an unconditional ‘love bubble’ and ends the cycle of enabling, and only then can the ego find out for itself whether or not the illusion satisfies. The heart providing this will both liberate the ego and allow it to move into a place of service to the heart, instead of it’s old role as master of the heart.” ~Nathan Martin & Aline Van Meer
“Be the Change with EFT” seeks to create solution energy not only in your experience, but also as an answer key that gets uploaded into the collective consciousness of humanity. In this way, you not only create a new energy pattern possibility, but you yourself are a walking solution that merely needs to live in order to transform society.
Here are the steps to changing the reality of injustice within your heart, thus allowing you to transform the reality of your outward experience:
- Give up all hope of the situation changing or going away. It’s bad, will continue to be bad, and may even get worse in order to get your attention; use EFT to accomplish this step.
- Set the intent to allow all of your feelings on the subject, as well as your motivations for changing the injustice, to bubble up to the surface. Powerlessness (anger), guilt, shame, inadequacy, fear, rejection, helplessness, etc., usually linked to personal childhood experiences.
- Tap on each feeling and circumstance related to the perceived injustice, from any and every angle possible as they arise. Make sure to find both sides (duality) of the issue, and seek a deeper understanding of your feelings of both extremes. See how you are also the other side, in some aspect of your life, even if you artificially suppress it. Do this alone, with a tapping partner, or a group of like-minded people.
- After tapping, rate your feelings on a scale between 1-10, with 10 being “highly charged” feelings, and 1 being “it does not bother me much at all”. Continue step 3 until you find that both extremes of the issue are scoring low.
- Allow for the evolution of your feelings and subject matter, as they go from the original issue, and into other connected and related topics or feelings.
- Be patient, this issue may take you a few days to several weeks to clear within your energy field and belief systems.
By the end of this process of clearing a social advocacy topic near and dear to your heart, you will find that you lack the highly charged judgment that once defined your ardent passion for taking up the cause. This does not diminish from the cause at all, but in fact, you are now carrying the solution energy within your energy body and thought patterns that can affect real change in your surroundings, without a battle ever being fought.
As stated in the list above, hope must be the first thing to go. This seems contrary to popular cultural belief, as hope is seen as a virtue within society, however, hope is the very thing that prevents meaningful change, and is installed by those with power as a protection against their rule being challenged.
“Many people hope for change; however, hope actually prevents meaningful change.” ~Nathan Martin
“Hope is the ultimate enabling energy; it keeps you looking to the future for your well-being instead of experiencing your feelings found in the present moment. It is more convenient to hope for something that isn’t real than to feel your depression, anger, or fear that is at the center of your unhappiness. However, if you were to fully experience those feelings, they could then be transformed into something much more real and powerful than hoping for your dreams; instead they can become the actual manifestations of your dreams.” ~Nathan & Aline
Just like in mass advocacy where you get a group together to fight for a cause, we too suggest creating a group, but instead of fighting an evil outside of yourselves, this group will be challenging each other to go deeper inside. We call these “EFT Advocacy Groups”, or playfully, “Gandhi Groups”.
This group can be as little as two people, but it helps if there is some contrast within the group, differing of opinions, even if those opinions are not polar opposites. If everyone agrees with the same perspective, it is difficult to create the tension necessary to really become one with the subject as a whole, you’ll only be able to experience half of the healing. However, you may find that after tapping out your feelings on one side, you will flip into the other camp, at least seeing their perspective with more compassion–this too will allow for more complete clearing of the subject matter as a whole.
Make sure to push each other’s buttons on the subject matter, really dive deep into your passionate feelings while tapping, brainstorming, and seeking clearer understanding. If you are in judgment of a perspective, or especially the people who hold the perspective, allow yourself to fully experience the hypocrisy, bias, and maybe even discriminatory beliefs that your ego may be spouting. This will allow your ego to fully experience its perspective with complete freedom and safety, so that it can see the folly of such beliefs. It’s all real until it’s not, the ego must be allowed to go in uncomfortable and politically incorrect directions, to fully experience the illusion of it’s process, and only then can it move into it’s rightful place of service to your loving heart.
Stay tuned as we create potential advocacy topics to master, some sample tapping videos to get you started, and more. We’re going to watch our world turn upside down as we create social change from the inside out.
