Address Your Addictions with EFT! (Video)
Addictions are an interesting animal, one that I do not worry much about. Meh, it’s just an addiction, all it does is point out that there is an area of your life that is crying out for attention, much like a temper tantrum would. In any addiction cycle, there is always two phases, the I’m all good because I’m not doing it phase (control phase), and the oh crap, I suck and am a horrible person because I just did something horrible phase (release phase). Of course, sandwiched in between the two is the “evil” deed, or the binge.
I am of the opinion that addictions should be attacked with a two fronted assault:
1. Give yourself permission to follow through with the “evil” deed, but only if you use EFT (or other emotional release methodology) prior to address the feelings leading to the need, and EFT afterwards to address the guilt and shame for having succumbed to the supposed addiction.
2. After a few binges, you will be able to identify the feelings associated in which you can’t cope, and desire to binge. Listen to those feelings, and follow them back to early childhood where you experienced similar feelings (usually powerlessness). Use EFT with a partner, coach, or therapist to dig deeper than you could without them.
**And now for my disclaimer, I am not advocating that you endanger yourself or someone else with an addictive behavior, please follow my advice within reason, or find a safe way in which to implement it. As always, please use common sense when trying a new approach.
What are your thoughts about this tactic? Do you feel it will be effective in eliminating the cyclical shame traps that addictive behavior brings? Please let me know your opinion!

This is a great video, the unresolved issue is low self esteem. To love and forgive myself brings sadness as I am hard on myself and joy as I love my life.
Yes, I am knee deep in working on a self esteem project this month, you nailed it! Thanks for the great input!
